Wayne is a partner at Hippo, Fleming & Pertile and practices in the areas of workers' compensation, business, and employment law. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University and his law degree from The National Law Center at George Washington University, Washington, DC.
Wayne spent the first thirteen years of his legal career representing the region's largest insurance companies in both workers' compensation and personal injury claims. Now he almost exclusively represents injured workers' and accident victims before various courts and judges on both the state and federal levels. Wayne's employment law practice focuses on wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, unemployment compensation, and sexual harassment cases.
Wayne is very involved in the community, and currently serves as Mayor of the City of Altoona and has completed two terms as an Altoona City Councilman. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Altoona Housing Authority and has previously served as a Director on Boards of various organizations, including Easter Seals Society of Central Pennsylvania and Home Nursing Agency Affiliates. He is a member of the Simpson Temple United Parish, and is an alumnus of the inaugural class of Leadership Blair County. He is active in the Altoona Region of the American Youth Soccer Organization, serving as Assistant Regional Commissioner and Coaching Administrator. Wayne has also bee a PIAA licensed soccer official for 6 years. He formerly served as a coach for Altoona High School in the Pennsylvania Bar Association High School Mock Trial Competition. He often speaks at seminars, as well as to numerous groups and associations regarding Workers' Compensation and Employment Law issues. These include Lorman Education Services, National Business Institute, the Blair County Human Resources Association, and the HealthForce annual meeting.
